WAC board holds next quarterly meeting Nov. 12-13 in Thermopolis

Welcome to Thermopolis — or is that Artopolis? This colorful billboard greets travelers coming into town from the west and was created by pastor and graffiti master Joe Moon. The Arts Council travels to Artopolis Nov. 12-13 for its quarterly board meeting.

The Wyoming Arts Council will hold its next quarterly board meeting in Thermopolis on Nov. 12-13. It will be held in the Government Annex Building’s County Commission Meeting Room, 117 N. 4th St.

Beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, the board will convene to adjudicate Governor’s Arts Awards nominations, hear reports, plan for upcoming events and conduct business.

The board invites individuals and organizational representatives to attend any part of the meeting to observe the board process, and to address the board during the public comment session beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Comments about the agency’s policies, funding priorities, on-line granting system, and other arts-related topics are welcomed.

At 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, the board will reconvene its meeting at the Government Annex Building. The meeting will adjourn at noon.

The Second Friday Art Stroll takes place in downtown Thermopolis from 5-8  p.m. that evening and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday.

The mission of the Wyoming Arts Council is to enhance the quality of life for the people of Wyoming by providing resources to sustain, promote and cultivate the arts.
