WAC board meets in Cheyenne July 31-Aug. 1


Members of the Wyoming Arts Council board will hold a quarterly meeting in Cheyenne on July 31-Aug. 1 at the Wyoming State Museum Multi-Purpose Room located in the Barrett Building, 2301 Central Ave.

Beginning at 1 p.m. on July 31, board members will meet at the Wyoming Arts Council, 2320 Capitol Ave., for a tour of Art in Public Buildings projects, including those at Curt Gowdy State Park, the Southeast Wyoming Visitors Center, the Game & Fish Building and the Military Readiness Center.

From 5:30-7 p.m., the public is invited to a reception at Clay Paper Scissors Gallery, 1513 Carey Ave., hosted by Arts Cheyenne and other Cheyenne arts organizations.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Aug. 1, the board will convene at the Multi-Purpose Room to hear reports, plan for upcoming events, and conduct business which will include review of the Wyoming Arts Council’s 2011–2015 Strategic Long Range Plan.

The board invites individuals and organizational representatives to attend any part of the meeting to observe the board process, and to address the board during the public comment session beginning at 3 p.m. on August 1. Comments about the agency’s policies, funding priorities, on-line granting system, and other arts-related topics are welcomed.

At 5 p.m., the public is invited to the grand opening reception for the WAC’s “Art of the Hunt” exhibit on the second floor of the State Museum.
