Washakie Museum & Worland Rotary Artist Quick Draw will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, 6-10 p.m., at the Washakie Museum and Cultural Center, 2200 Big Horn Ave., Worland. Includes a live auction and music.

Postmark deadline for entries is Nov. 1; e-mail deadline Nov. 2.

What is a Quick Draw Event?

Participating artists are given one hour  to “finish” an artwork of their choice, beginning with a blank canvas and ending with a masterpiece.  Some of the more labor intensive art mediums will be allowed to start with a partially-finished artwork (ex: bronze).  Artists will be scattered at designated stations throughout the Museum event center and foyer.  Attendees will stroll among the artists to watch them work and root them on.  After completion, artworks will be displayed for 30 minutes and then auctioned off to attendees.  This will be a fast-pace and exciting event for both artists and onlookers!

The Quick Draw is a fund-raiser for the Washakie Museum and Rotary Club which supports projects throughout the community.  Artists will receive 20% of the auction sale price.  Out-of-town artists are invited to stay with a Rotarian host.

Additional details for artists:

Use a model photo, still life, or imagination as your guide.  Artists are strongly encouraged to frame the artwork within the 1-hour time period, bringing the auction selling price up significantly.  Artists are allowed to bring pre-cut mat board and frames for their artwork.

You are invited to stop by the Museum between 3-5:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 to set up your pre-assigned station.  You are encouraged to bring your own supplies.  The Museum will provide a table, easel, and lamp if you request it by Nov. 18.
