The Western States Arts Federation in Denver has announced the results for the 2007-2008 TourWest grants that support performances occurring between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008. The list includes the funded hub and standard performance grants. According to WESTAF, “this year’s grant round was highly competitive and funding was limited. In total, 204 out of 273 applications received funding and $444,725 was awarded.”
Ten Wyoming organizations received TourWest grants: ARTCORE in Casper, Campbell Co. Public Land Board/Cam-plex in Gillette, Dancer’s Workshop in Jackson, Grand Encampment Cowboy Gathering in Encampment, Lander Community Concerts Association, Park Co. Arts Council, Pinedale Fine Arts Council, University of Wyoming Cultural Programs, WYO Theater in Sheridan, and Young Musicians in Evanston.

The Wyoming Arts Council believes that experiencing the arts should be accessible for all, including people with mental and/or physical disabilities, older adults, military/veterans, people living in institutions and those who lack access to the arts due to geographic isolation, cultural difference and economic hardship.
