Wyoming Arts Council announces Fiscal Year 2016 grants

The Wyoming Arts Council (WAC) has announced that it will distribute 114 grants totaling $723,236 for Fiscal Year 2016, which begins July 1.

Every year in March, the WAC accepts applications from across Wyoming in its three largest categories: Arts Education (AE), Grants to Organizations (GTO) and Operating Support Grants (OSG). The finished applications are reviewed by peer panels in April. They then receive recommendations on funding allocations from the WAC board at its May meeting before being approved by the WAC Executive Director.

In the Arts Education category, which provides experiences that increase knowledge and skills in one or more art forms, the WAC approved 37 grants for a total of $193,294.

Grants to Organizations support the production of arts programs, projects and events in local communities. The WAC approved 51 GTO grants totaling $264,930.

Operating Support Grants help fund the ongoing work of Wyoming’s established non-profit arts organizations. The WAC will fund 26 grants in this category for a total of $265,012.
