Designed as a professional development conference for artists, arts advocates, administrators, and educators, the Wyoming Arts Summit will also play host to a number of concerts and events that are free and open to the public.
The Wyoming Arts Council is partnering with Arts Cheyenne to hold a self-guided Artwalk on Thurs., Nov. 7 in downtown Cheyenne from 5-8 p.m. The evening includes live music, exhibitions, spoken word, and more at seventeen local businesses and organizations. In addition, downtown businesses Mary’s Mountain Cookies, Our Place Antiques, and Downtown Mercantile will have extended hours until 8 p.m.
Local poet Mandie Hindes will be hosting a literary arts open mic night at the Paramount Cafe and Ballroom. Wyoming Poet Laureate Gene Gagliano, Laramie artist Paul Taylor, and 2019 Creative Writing Fellowship recipient in Poetry, Jason Stenar Clark will share some of their work. Others will be able to sign up on site to share work.
Featuring musicians from all corners of the Cowboy State, the Wyoming Arts Council’s Wyoming Independent Music Initiative (WIMI) will host free performances at WYO Music, The Wigwam Lounge at the Historic Plains Hotel, and Array.
