Wyoming Association of Taxidermy Artists’ show returns to Dubois April 12

News from the Headwaters Arts and Conference Center in Dubois:

This year the state taxidermy show, sponsored by the Wyoming Association of Taxidermy Artists (WATA) returns to Fremont County. It will be held at the Headwaters Arts and Convention Center in Dubois and is open to the public Saturday, April 12, from 8 A.M. until 7 P.M. In addition to taxidermists from around the state they usually have participation by taxidermists from Idaho, Montana, Colorado and Nebraska who bring their best work for judges’ critiques and public display.

The Mission of The Wyoming Association of Taxidermy Artist, a non-profit organization, is to help increase public awareness of quality taxidermy, raise the standards of taxidermy through annual competition, increase the knowledge of its members through educational seminars and form a camaraderie between taxidermist statewide.

New this year as a benefit to the community, WATA is hosting a Hunter Education Field Day for those who’ve completed the course on the Wyoming Game and Fish website. The field day starts at 10 A.M. Saturday April 12th and runs through 4 P.M. This is an excellent opportunity to get your hunter safety certificate and take a look at some of the region’s best taxidermy art. Anyone wanting to attend the field day needs to sign up on the Wyoming Game and Fish website and should have completed the online course by the time the field day begins.
