Arts in the State Parks

Bria Hammock

Through a vibrant partnership with Wyoming State Parks, the Wyoming Arts Council brings the arts into nature, offering year-round programming that connects creativity with Wyoming’s iconic landscapes. These collaborative initiatives celebrate the state’s natural beauty while fostering community engagement and artistic expression.

Plein Air in the Parks is a juried painting and drawing competition held twice annually, where artists create original works inspired by the stunning scenery of Wyoming’s state parks. The event welcomes artists of all levels and offers a unique opportunity to connect with the public through on-site creation and exhibition.

The Wyoming State Parks & Cultural Resources Artist in Residence program places visual artists within state parks, allowing them to immerse themselves in the environment and produce work that reflects the wonder and diversity of Wyoming’s outdoors.

Additionally, Tunes on the Trail brings live music performances to select parks each summer, offering visitors an unforgettable blend of art, music, and outdoor adventure.
