Wyoming Youth Arts Council
This is where creative leadership begins.
Empowering Creative Youth Leaders Across Wyoming
The Wyoming Youth Arts Council (WYAC) is a statewide initiative that empowers high school students (ages 15–19) to lead through the arts. This eight-month program connects students with peers and mentors, fosters creative exploration, and gives young artists the opportunity to create meaningful change in their communities through hands-on arts leadership experiences.

Why It Matters
Launched in 2025, the Youth Arts Council supports the next generation of creative leaders in Wyoming. The program helps students develop essential life skills—like communication, collaboration, and problem-solving—while encouraging them to use their artistic voice to make a meaningful impact.
Participants gain insight into careers in the creative sector, connect with mentors and fellow youth artists, and co-create a collaborative project that reflects their experiences, goals, and passions. By equipping young people with tools for leadership and advocacy, the program builds a stronger, more inclusive future for Wyoming’s arts community.
Program Goals
- Leadership Development: Build strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Creative Exploration: Explore careers in the creative sector, arts policy, and the creative economy.
- Hands-On Learning: Participate in workshops on grant writing, arts education, and arts programming.
- Mentorship: Engage with peers, mentors, and professionals across the state.
- Youth-Led Projects: Create and lead a collaborative project that reflects your artistic and leadership journey.
