Tunes on the Trail

Launched in 2025, Tunes on the Trail is a collaborative program uniting the Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation, the Wyoming Arts Council, and Wyoming State Parks. Blending live acoustic music with outdoor adventure, this initiative offers unique performances in Wyoming’s scenic state parks. Supported by Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources’ Spark Tank! and part of the Wyoming Arts Council’s Wyoming Independent Music Initiative (WIMI), Tunes on the Trail helps artists expand their reach while creating unforgettable experiences for audiences in the great outdoors.


About Tunes on the Trail

Tunes on the Trail is a new collaborative program presented by the Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation, the Wyoming Arts Council, and Wyoming State Parks. Designed to blend live acoustic music with outdoor adventure, this initiative offers audiences an intimate, unplugged concert experience in Wyoming’s breathtaking state parks.

2025 Tunes on the Trail Application Form

Application window: April 4 – May 2, 2025

The Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation, Wyoming Arts Council, and Wyoming State Parks are seeking four Wyoming-based musicians to perform unplugged concerts in scenic outdoor locations during the summer of 2025. Each selected artist will perform a 90-minute acoustic set at one of four designated Wyoming State Parks or Historic Sites between June and September and receive a $550 performance fee. Concerts will be paired with a guided outdoor recreation activity.

  • Keyhole State Park
  • Curt Gowdy State Park
  • Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site
  • Edness K. Wilkins State Park

Musicians can select their preferred performance location in the application. A reserved campsite will be available for those traveling to perform.
