Description:

My journey as a blacksmith started in 1976 when I meet Slim Spurling in Morrison, Colorado and he agreed to mentor me in the traditional skills of blacksmithing. After a year of working under his guidance I struck out on my own. For the last forty years my work as a blacksmith has included toolsmithing for an industrial shop, architectural pieces such as garden gates and railings, furniture, house furnishings and traditional tools. Often my forged ironwork incorporates botanical designs from the environment around me and classic forging skills. I have completed projects for the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Park Service, National Endowment for the Arts as well as countless private commissions. Currently I operate Arrowhead Forge School of Blacksmithing in Buffalo, Wyoming and conduct workshops and demonstrations throughout the northern Rockies region.
