Lady Jane began her love of the jazz classics at an early age. Noting the magical, artistic writings of the creative musicians and 'songbirds' of the past. LJ's contralto vocals have been compared to jazz pianist Diana Krall. LJ is accompanied by guitarist Mr. Terry Garrison. His main musical influences include Joe Pass and Chet Atkins. Together they offer a laid-back show of 'jazz through the decades'.
Jazz pioneer "Jelly Roll Morton' claimed to invent what we call jazz, in 1902 in New Orleans. We cover the decades beginning with a 1914 song St. Louis Blues, travel through the swing era and the genius of Gershwin, Peggy Lee and others. As all genre of music are open for interpretation, we've taken inspiration from Sophie Milman, Canadian vocalist. Her arrangements of the 1969 The Guess Whos, Undun, is a favorite. We've added our own selections, such as Gino Vannelli, Eric Clapton & Norah Jones!
