Description:
The authors are school teachers. Murphy Booth is a 2nd grade teacher in Lander, WY and was looking for a book on South Pass and its important history and its place in developing the Oregon Trail to read to her class and share with her son. She was not able to find what she was looking for, and the idea to write this book was born.
Ann Muirhead is a high school teacher in Cheyenne, Wyoming and is passionate about children's literature.
Sali Freese Allard, the artist, is a resident of Riverton, Wyoming and has owned cabins and art studios in the South Pass and Atlantic City area.
The Wyoming Arts Council believes that experiencing the arts should be accessible for all, including people with mental and/or physical disabilities, older adults, military/veterans, people living in institutions and those who lack access to the arts due to geographic isolation, cultural difference and economic hardship.
