Raised in Iowa, Terry Rasmussen moved to Casper in 1992 to teach classes in composition, poetry, fiction, nature writing, and women’s literature at Casper College. Over the years, she also directed many Casper College and ARTCORE literary conferences and served as faculty sponsor for Expression, the campus literary and arts magazine. Terry’s poetry and nonfiction has appeared in various journals, such as North American Review and Greater Yellowstone: Inside and Out, and anthologies, including Wyoming Fence Lines (ed. David Romveldt) and Stories of the Wild (ed. Susan Marsh). After opting for an early retirement from academic life due to Covid,Terry continues to write and is exploring other opportunities this new life of leisure holds. If her retirement schedule allows, she is available for readings of her poetry and/or prose, for a public talk and Power Point presentation entitled "Mountain as Metaphor" (originally shared at the 2009 Casper College Humanities Festival), or to faciliate poetry, fiction, or nature writing workshops.
