Richard Gould has cowboyed most of his life and began horsehair hitching and rope twisting seventeen years ago. The art of horse hair hitching (knotting, using open or closed half hitches) begins with a pull of ten hairs to be cleaned, dyed, washed and twisted before the actual hitching can begin. Richard teaches beginner and intermediate classes at the Lander Art Center, and his works have been part of the “Real West” exhibition there. He is a Lander Art Center board member.
