2023 Arts Summit Happening in Sheridan Next Week

The Wyoming Arts Council, along with SAGE Community Arts and WYO Performing Arts and Education Center, invite you to join us for the 2023 Arts Summit in Sheridan on October 26-29.

The Arts Summit is a biannual event and is an opportunity for individuals to come together, learn from one another, and empower the state’s creative sector. There will be sessions and workshops that provide professional development opportunities for artists and advocates, administrators, and educators.

This year’s keynote presentations will be “Rural Recharge: Patterns and Propositions” by Richard Saxton, Matthew Fluharty, and Margo Handwerker from M12 Studio and “Creating an Indigenous Arts Ecology” presented by Justin Huenemann from First People’s Fund.

Registration is open through Monday, Oct. 23 and participants are encouraged to register quickly. New in 2023, registration to the Arts Summit is tiered, allowing each attendee to pay at the level at which they are able. Tiered levels range from full registration to discounted, and includes a pay-what-you-can level and a free option.

“The Arts Council is looking forward to being in Sheridan and connecting with many of our colleagues. This event provides a unique professional development opportunity for those working in the arts and culture sector in the state – from an open mic night, to portfolio reviews, and sessions for administrators and organizational leaders. We encourage everyone to take a look at the schedule and see what may be applicable,” says Rachel Clifton, Wyoming Arts Council Executive Director.
