Alonzo King LINES Ballet returns to Jackson with Scheherazade – a timeless tale of “1,001 Nights” interpreted through Alonzo King’s unique artistic lens. This work was originally commissioned by the Monaco Dance Forum to inaugurate the Centenary of the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo. A new score by tabla master Zakir Hussain re-interprets the original music by Rimsky-Korsakov.
Alonzo King is recognized as one of the fifty outstanding artists in American by the United States Artists organization. He is noted for his collaborations with other cutting-edge composers, musicians and visual artists.
