The Wyoming Arts Council invites you to apply for the 2015 performing arts fellowships in theatre direction, dance choreography and design for the stage.  Application deadline is Dec. 19, 2014.

The WAC annually awards up to three fellowships of $3,000 each to honor the most exciting, creative work by Wyoming theatre directors, choreographers and stage designers. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and full-time residents of Wyoming.

Jurors are Tamara Dyke-Compton, dancer, choreographer and professor in the dance program at the University of Arizona in Tucson; and Thomas Ossowski, stage director and professor in the music theatre program at Florida State University in Tallahassee. Both jurors have ties to the region. During the summers, Dyke-Compton is on the jazz faculty at Perry Mansfield Performing Arts Camp in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Ossowski serves as artistic director for the Post Playhouse in Chadron, Neb.

Applications will be accepted online through the Western States Arts Federation’s Call for Entry (CaFÉ) online system. It is free for artists to sign up with CaFÉ and there is no application fee to apply for the fellowships. Go to www.callforentry.com and search for this call name: “Wyoming Arts Council Performing Arts Fellowships 2015.” The application criteria are included on that site.

Since this competition began in 1990, 44 talented artists have received performing arts fellowships including last year’s winners, Madelaine German of Jackson and Miss “V” the Gypsy Cowbelle of Thermopolis.
