Mermaids assemble on stage as part of a Missoula Children’s Theatre production coordinated by the Pinedale Fine Arts Council and funded by a Wyoming Arts Council Arts Education grant.

Applications are open for the Wyoming Arts Council’s Arts Education, Grants to Organizations and Operating Support Grants categories.

Arts Education (AE) programs must show potential to, or have a proven record of, providing learning experiences that increase knowledge and skills in one or more art forms. Organizations interested in applying for these grants may submit a draft for review by Feb. 15. Final application deadline is March 1.

Grants to Organizations (GTO), the WAC’s largest grant category, supports the production of arts programs, projects and events in local communities across the state. GTO grants promote artistic excellence and a breadth of artistic experience for audiences of all ages and abilities.

Operating Support Grants (OSG) help fund the ongoing work of Wyoming’s established 501(c)3 non-profit art organizations, which are crucial partners with the WAC in providing access to the arts for the state’s residents and improving the quality of life. These grants help organizations to sustain and expand their programs and services.  They can be used to support any general operating expenses, including salaries, marketing, rent, utilities, insurance, supplies, exhibits or artistic fees.

Draft deadline for both the GTO and OSG categories is March 1 with the final deadline on March 15.

All grants submitted by the draft deadline will be reviewed by staff, and returned for changes if recommended.

Please note that there are some changes to the reporting required for these grant categories, which are listed on the main Grants page under New for Fiscal Year 2016. We strongly recommend that you review these prior to applying.
