Galloping horses pulling skiers over jumps, snow chariot racing, night ice climbing… Jackson Hole locals don’t hide out from winter, they celebrate it – and welcome lucky travelers in town along for the ride. For its fifth year, Jackson, will host its annual 10-day WinterFest celebration with locals and visitors alike taking to the slopes and streets with a mix of ski competitions, unique horse racing events, art walks, food and drink and much more, Feb. 13 – 22, 2015. And snow-celebrants can bring the whole family for events including ice skating on Jackson’s Town Square, lit by its famed elk antler arches. A partial lineup of WinterFest’s exciting activities includes:
• Feb. 13 – 22: Ice skating on Jackson’s Town Square
• Feb. 14: Alejandro Escovedo concert at Center for the Arts
• Feb. 14 and 15: Cutter (horse-drawn chariot) races at Melody Ranch
• Feb. 16: Snow bike demos and race at Snow King
• Feb. 19: Gallery Walk to Jackson art galleries
• Feb. 20: WinterFest Wine Tasting at Center for the Arts
• Feb. 21 and 22: Skijoring (horse-and-skier) competitions at South Park
