Attend UW’s Art Symposium, April 2-4


Public Art and Community: Inspiration and Reflection is a symposium designed to expand the conversation and dialogue about the importance of public art in Wyoming’s communities and campuses. Building upon the success of Sculpture: A Wyoming Invitational, this symposium will bring together artists, community leaders, college and university administrators, faculty and teachers, students, and more to provide insight and share information on public art in Wyoming today.

Thursday, April 2
1 – 5 pm Symposium Registration & Check-in, UW Conference Center
5 – 7 pm Welcoming Reception, University of Wyoming Art Museum
7:30 pm: Art Slam with John Henry, Ursula von Rydingsvard, and Jesús Moroles, UW Conference Center
10:00 pm – to midnite: 20:20 Artists and arts organizations, this is your chance to share what you are creating and what is happening in the arts in your community! Advance sign-up is required; contact Rachel Miller, rmiller@uwyo.edu or 766-6621 for information and to sign-up.
Friday, April 3
7 am: Visual Arts Roundtable with the Wyoming Arts Council @ Coal Creek Coffee (adjacent to the Hilton Hotel on Grand Ave)
7:30 am – 5 pm: Symposium Registration & Check-in UW Conference Center
8 am – 12 noon: Symposium sessions
12 noon – 1 pm: Lunch including a Roundtable for visual artists with the Wyoming Arts Council
1 pm – 5 pm: Symposium sessions
5:30 pm: Dinner on your own. Visual Artists Roundtables with the Wyoming Arts Council at various restaurants; sign-up required; a maximum of 10 at each Roundtable. Sign-up at check-in.

Saturday, April 4
