Join us for the Wyoming Arts Conference! Register now at the Wyoming Arts Alliance web site.
The Wyoming Arts Council and the Wyoming Arts Alliance invite the arts community to gather for a weekend of inspiration, learning, and networking October 12, 13 and 14 at the Snow King Hotel/Grand View Lodge and Center for the Arts in Jackson. We’ll start off with a keynote address on the creative economy by Randy Cohen, the Vice President of Research and Policy for Americans for the Arts.
The conference will feature three tracks: one for individual artists; another focusing on organizational development; and a third for assorted topics of interest to arts organizations and communities. There’s something for everyone! Presenters include Kelly Barsdate from the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, Karen Hanan from Arts Northwest and many more! There will be a speed networking opportunity to meet people from across the state, and a ”Bright Spots” session highlighting interesting successes in the Wyoming arts scene.
Once you’ve learned and networked, relax to a variety of presentations by state and regional artists during the annual block-booking showcases hosted by the Wyoming Arts Alliance. Presentations will include both performing and visual artists.
The final session will include a reading by, and conversation with, guest artist Terry Tempest Williams, a conservationist and “impassioned, lyrical” writer who has won multiple literary awards. Her meditative voice reaches far beyond the environment to touch the arts, voices of women and democracy.
