Call for entries: Postcards & Pint-Sized Art Exhibit

News from Holly Turner at the Casper Artists’ Guild:

Dear Artist and Friend of the Arts,

First of all, Thank You for your help in last year’s very successful Casper Artists’ Guild Postcards-Take Home Art for the Holidays event!!  It was so fun and successful that we have decided to keep it as an annual event to raise monies for our Art 321 project and operations.

We have raised over $700,000 out of the $800,000 that we need to raise and have started construction in the new building at 321 Midwest. March 2015 is our scheduled month for completion and move in.  Your donation of art will help us to reach our goal and Art 321 will be an incredible art space for you, the Casper community and Wyoming to enjoy.  It will be a place to gather artists and community, exhibit artists work, sell artists work and to engage in art-making for all.

Here is how “POSTCARDS & PINT SIZED ART” works:

  • The exhibition and auction is a fundraiser for ART 321, our new soon-to-be location for the Casper Artists’ Guild.  Your submission is a full donation to the Guild for ART 321.  Thank you.
  • The deadline for submission is Saturday, November 1, 2014.
  • This is an open invitation and all works in any media are welcome.  We especially welcome small sculptural and three-dimensional works—wood, ceramics, metal, glass, etc. We ask that your work be no larger than 5×7 inches.  If you submit three-dimensional work, please adhere to the (roughly) 5×7 inch proportions for height, width and depth.
  • We can accept only original work; no commercial reproductions please.  You do not need to frame the work; we take care of all framing for you (but you could mat your piece up to an 8 X 10 max).
  • We welcome up to two (2) total submissions. “POSTCARDS & PINT SIZED ART is open to all our region’s artists.  If you know of an artist who is not on our list, please copy and pass on the invitation.

All submitting artists are our guests at no charge for the Auction evening, Friday, November 21, 2014, 6:00 p.m.  Please call or email in advance if you plan to attend.  We hope that you can join us! We realize how many requests you receive each year from our region’s non-profits and we are enormously grateful for your generosity.  If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to call.

Sincerely,

Holly Turner, Executive Director, Casper Artists’ Guild
