Call for applications: Jackson Hole Cultural Diversity Mural


From the Jackson Hole Public Art Initiative:

Design and paint a Community Mural inside the Garaman underpass that connects town to the school district. “Street art” techniques will be introduced and utilized to depict a cultural diversity theme. Students will work with Pathways to become official ambassadors of the pedestrian corridor. The works of Judy Baca, JR, Bansky and other contemporary street artists will be reviewed. 

Students ages 14-18 may apply for a limited number of paid internships (see below) and are required to attend the Street Art Workshop. Tentative work schedule: weekdays 10-2PM, July 6 – August 3.

10 AM – 4 PM
Center for the Arts, Borshell Studio, 3rd floor.
Teens: 14-18

Cost: a donation of $20 is requested for supplies.

Friday 10:00 – 11:00: Social Justice, introductory lecture with Dr. Ed A. Munoz, University of Wyoming Chicano department studies head. 

Saturday 10:00 – 11:00: Street Art Slide Show, Presented by Ricki Arno.

11:00 – 4:00 Friday & Saturday: Learn new techniques with artists Mike Tierney, Ryan Heyworth, Wendall Filed .
