Call for artists: UW Geological Museum

uw geology

The University of Wyoming Geological Museum is hosting an OPEN CALL FOR ART exploring broad topics in geologic history and paleontological discoveries, from across Wyoming. Artists are encouraged to submit work in all mediums.

We are looking for conceptual and visual artists who would like to be part of a mixed-media show in the UW Geological Museum’s Gallery & Exhibit Space. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a juried show on the UW campus, and is your chance to tell visual stories exploring creative approaches to Wyoming’s geological and paleontological history.

Works will be reviewed and selected by a juried panel of art and science practitioners.

Submission Deadline: Wednesday, November 11th. Artists will be notified of acceptance by Friday, November 13th, and all work will need to be delivered to the UW Geological Museum no later than Monday, November 16th at 3pm. Works will be premiered at a reception promoting the release of Disney-Pixar’s animated film, ‘The Good Dinosaur’ on Friday, November 20th, 5pm.
