Cody's Center of the West explores pioneer foodways Nov. 15

News from the Buffalo Bill Center of the West:

On Friday, Nov. 15, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West hosts a Family Fun Day that’s all about food. “Tasty Traditions” invites attendees to share stories, swap recipes, sample some great western food—and gain a better understanding of aspects of our western heritage through food. The event takes place from 3–7 p.m.

“Tasty Traditions” is inspired by the Key Ingredients: America by Food exhibit recently on display at the Homesteader Museum in nearby Powell. A Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition, Key Ingredients examined the evolution of the kitchen and America’s food industry. At the Center of the West’s event, Chuck Wagon Cookie Ron Reed prepares his popular Dutch oven beans and biscuits; visitors help make frontier ice cream; and Center staffer and resident cake decorator Rachel Lee demonstrates her artistic decorating techniques.
