Coronavirus update from the Wyoming Arts Council

As coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads across the U.S. and is now confirmed in the state, the Wyoming Arts Council recognizes that this health concern presents special challenges for the arts sector, especially those hosting mass gatherings, such as performances, festivals, and receptions.

We would like to take this opportunity to direct our colleagues and grantees to a few valuable resources for organizations and individual artists.

Please visit the Wyoming Department of Health website and the Center for Disease Control website for information and updates about COVID-19, as well as state and federal recommendations for holding mass gatherings. Organizers of such events are also encouraged to work directly with their local or county health officials.

This is a dynamic and changing situation, and the Wyoming Arts Council understands that there may be significant changes to grant funded programs around the state. We will work directly with organizations and individuals to support decisions as related to postponing, canceling, or otherwise changing planned programming for which grant funds have been received. We encourage our grantees to make timely decisions about canceling and/or postponing, and ask that you contact the Arts Council to discuss changes when you are able. Our priority is to work with organizations and individuals as best we can to accommodate project changes.

Contact Mike Lange, Executive Director (Michael.Lange@wyo.gov or 307-275-4476) or Rachel Clifton, Assistant Director (Rachel.Clifton@wyo.gov or 307-256-0500) with questions, concerns, or to discuss changes to your programming.

The deadline to submit an application for a Fiscal Year 2021 (July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021) Community Support Grant will remain 11:59 pm MST on April 1.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will send out relevant updates and information as it becomes available.
