Father Peter J. Powell will discuss American Indian art and artifacts during a Thursday, Aug. 13, 7 p.m., lecture at the Brinton Museum in Big Horn.
Powell is the associate curator of “To Honor the Plains Nations,” an exhibit of American Indian items that were recently gifted to the museum. He will discuss the spiritual qualities of the items, along with how they were made and used by the people who lived in the area surrounding the Bighorn Mountains.
Powell is also a well-known scholar, author, Anglican priest and an adopted elder of the Northern Cheyenne.
