Figaro and the beautiful Susanna are about to be married, but the lecherous Count Almaviva stands in their way. As the Countess grows suspicious of her philandering husband’s motives, a scheming rival, a lovesick teen, a drunken gardener, and a silly young girl find themselves in a dizzying mess of blunders, follies and mistaken identities that lead servants to outwit their master and love to triumph in the end. They say the course of true love never did run smoothly, but in Mozart’s brilliant and perfect opera, the trials of amore are as moving as they are entertaining.
