The 11th annual Diwali Night at the University of Wyoming features an evening of Indian culture including music, performances and a fashion show at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. A free dinner, with tickets required, is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Ballroom.
“Diwali,” also known as the “Festival of Lights,” is India’s largest festival, celebrating the victory of good over evil.
The night will start with Indian classical musicians, Rajeev Taranath and Abhiman Kaushal from California, Mudra Dance Studio, and DJ Rinku and DJ Paul from Denver. UW students from India will be featured in the fashion show.
Tickets for the dinner are available at the Wyoming Union information desk at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, and also may be obtained Oct. 1-2. Ticket distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
