From a UW press release:
Americana band J Shogren Shanghai’d will perform for the University of Wyoming Summer Programs concert series Wednesday, June 3, from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. on Simpson Plaza. The event is free and open to the public.
The Centennial-based band plays a “catawampus style of Americana music” — a mix that includes folk, country, blues, jazz and rockabilly.
“Blending more styles than we can list here, Shogren somehow ties it all together for his own unique sound,” says Village Records. “Thoughtful and larger than life songs set to a hard acoustic background make for some exciting listening. At the end of the day, though, it’s Americana at its best.”
J Shogren, also known as Jason Shogren, is not only a musician, but a distinguished professor in the UW Department of Economics and Finance.
