“Jentel Presents” will take place Tuesday, July 7, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Davis Gallery in Sheridan. This is a community outreach program that features visual presentations and readings by the visual artists and writers at the Jentel Artist Residency program.
Presenters include: Debra Baxter, Seattle, a sculptor creating works in alabaster for a solo exhibition; Sandra Beasley, Washington, D.C., a poet with a published collection in hand; Susan D’Amato, Syracuse, N.Y., who is working on large-scale drawings based on her experience and response to the Wyoming landscape; Megan Marlatt, Orange, Va., who is making paintings of children’s figurative toys on the Wyoming landscape; Brittani Sonnenberg, Minneapolis, who is completing a collection of short stories; and Hilary Wilder, Richmond, Va., who is assembling the painting, video and photographic components for an installation entitled “High Lonesome.”
For anyone looking for a stimulating evening, come join the crowd at the Davis Gallery. There is no admission charge for Jentel Presents and refreshments are available.
The Jentel Artist Residency Program accepts applications twice a year from visual artists in all media and writers in all genres for a one-month residency. A residency includes a comfortable accommodation; common living, dining and recreation areas; a private workspace and a stipend to help defray expenses during the program.
