“Ancient Icons of the Prairie,” a monumental bronze sculpture by Guadalupe Barajas, was installed at the Wyoming Games & Fish Department headquarters on June 24. In the photo above, Barajas is interviewed by a crew from Channel 5 News, and the sculpture can be seen in the background. The Wyoming Arts Council invites you to the official dedication of the artwork on Thursday, June 27. Public viewing begins at 3 p.m. followed by congratulatory remarks at 3:30 p.m. by Gov. Matthew Mead and other officials. A reception will be held after the ceremony. The event is free and open to the public. The sculpture was funded through the “Works of Art in Public Buildings” program created by the Wyoming Legislature in 1991. It is administered by the Wyoming Arts Council and the State Museum. Additional private funding for this project was donated by Wyoming Wildlife-The Foundation and the Tri-State Chapter of Safari Club International.
