From a press release:
Cathedral Voices is pleased to announce the preliminary judges for Jackson’s second SING OFF – a competition and fundraiser event on May 30 in the Theater Lobby at the Center for the Arts. Broadway veteran Gina Feliccia and freelance theatre artist and playwright Caryn Flanagan will select the final contestants to compete in the Sing Off.
OPEN AUDITIONS will be held on Tuesday, May 19, at the Center for the Arts.
“The SING OFF provides crucial funding for Cathedral Voices’ music education and outreach programs, including Summer Sing, Singing in the Schools, and nearly a dozen outreach performances throughout our community,” commented Laura Huckin, Cathedral Voices’ Artistic Director. Tasty hors d’oeuvres, drinks, a silent auction, and an exciting SING OFF Competition among local talent will make this an unforgettable evening. Email music@cathedralvoices.org to schedule an audition time in advance (walk-ins are not guaranteed an audition slot). Visit www.cathedralvoices.org for rules.
Gina Feliccia moved to Jackson Hole from California in 2012. She performed the roles of Eponine and Cosette in the Broadway Company Production of Les Miserables, as well as the National Touring Company. Ms. Feliccia is co-founder of Big City Broadway, a non-profit organization that cultivates performance arts in schools and communities. Big City Broadway has an upcoming summer production—Somewhere Over the Rainbow—putting local youth on the stage with Broadway actress and singer Sarah Uriarte Berry (Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast).
Caryn Flanagan is a freelance theatre artist and the former Artistic Director for Off Square Theatre Company. A talented actor, director, playwright, and teacher, Ms. Flanagan’s new play “Point of Rocks” was selected for Riot Act’s 2014 summer shorts series and had its debut last year, directed by Caryn.
