University of Wyoming Department of Music students will perform during a free Marimba Ensemble and Pan Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Fine Arts Center concert hall in Laramie.
The program will feature Antonio Vivaldi’s “Concerto Grosso” and Mexican folk tunes performed on marimbas, a ragtime xylophone solo played by music education major, Mike Amend of Gillette, and Steve Barnhart, percussion studio professor, will perform two contemporary marimba solos.
The UW Pan Band will conclude the program with modern arrangements of Caribbean favorites for steel drums.
