“Scrambled McManus” will be performed Thursday, Sept. 24, 7:30 p.m., in the John F. Welsh Auditorium at Natrona County High School in Casper.
From the ARTCORE web site:
In response to requests from theatre producers and audiences across the country, humor author Patrick F. McManus and Tim Behrens (the actor who portrays Pat on stage) created “Scrambled McManus,” a bumper crop of tales harvested from all four Pat McManus Comedies: “A Fine and Pleasant Misery,” “McManus in Love,” “Pat McManus, Endlessly Grousing, and “Potts’ Luck.”
The usual McManus “staples” all make an appearance: Rancid Crabtree, Crazy Eddie Muldoon, Mrs. Swisher, Melba Peachbottom and Goombaw to name a few. Each contributes his or her (or its!) own idea about the nature of story itself, and how it feels to be a McManus character, much to their creator’s consternation. The evening’s menu includes: The Mummy (a light-hearted look at fear of the dark); My First Deer (or the boy who rode up the mountain and the deer who rode down it); The Night the Bear Ate Goombaw (a fur-fetched tale); and The Bike (or how [not] to prepare for your first date)…and more.
