From a University of Wyoming press release:
Members of Chicago’s famed Second City will present an improvisational comedy show Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 8 p.m. in the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.
The program, sponsored by UW’s Student Activities Council, is free and open to the public.
Since opening December 1959 as a small cabaret theater in Chicago, Second City has evolved into one of the most influential forces in present-day comedy and improv. Second City made a name for itself as an award-winning, honored and prestigious organization with more than 30 Joseph Jefferson Awards for excellence in Chicago theater, and more than 35 Dora Award nominations that celebrate excellence in Toronto theater, dance and opera.
Second City has successfully trained more than 500 comedians throughout the years, including notable entertainers Tina Fey, Eugene Levy, Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert. Since opening, Second City has expanded from its original theater and now has three training theaters in Chicago, Toronto and Los Angeles.
