The annual Stars of Tomorrow competition will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 7-9 p.m., at the WYO Theater, 420 Main Street in Sheridan.
Every year Sheridan area youth get the chance to show off their talents and a chance to perform on the WYO Theatre Stage for the Annual Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow Youth Talent Show, usually held in February. Every spring youth try out for the talent show by playing instruments, singing, dancing or even telling jokes.
The contest was started by Edwin Hunter in the mid-1940s and has been a community staple since.
The contest is divided in to three divisions—elementary, junior high and high school. First, second and third place winners from each division receive a trophy and a certificate. There is then an overall winner of the show who receives a college scholarship and the opportunity to compete at the district and potentially national level of the competition.
