Award-winning, international storyteller Diane Ferlatte returns to Teton County Public Library in Jackson on Friday, February 13 for the performance “Have I Got a Story to Tell” from 7-8 p.m. in the library’s Ordway Auditorium. The free performance is designed for ages 6 and up and sponsored by Teton County Library Foundation.
“Diane brought so much talent, energy and enjoyment to her performance here last year that we responded to audience requests by bringing her back for a 2009 visit,” says Debbie Schlinger, Youth Services Program Coordinator. Also an actress and Grammy-nominated recording artist, Ferlatte performs traditional African American songs and stories, classical tales such as “Aesop, Alive & Well,” contemporary and personal stories for all ages. Ferlatte’s memorable stories and stage presence have garnered her more than 30 awards and honors. In 2008 alone, she received a Grammy nomination for her album “Wickety Whack – Brer Rabbit Is Back,” a Storytelling World Winner Award for the same title, and a Children’s Music Web Award for another “Knick Knack Paddy Whack 2.” Samples of her music, a full list of awards and personal memories of storytelling are available on Ferlatte’s site
