Storytellers — An artist invitational with works by Spencer Bohren, Melissa Strickler and Do Palma
The Lander Art Center (LAC) is excited to present Storytellers in the up-coming artist invitational opening Friday, September 26 from 6-9pm at the Lander Art Center. Evening will include a live musical performance by Spencer Bohren from 8-9pm.
This special invitational curated by LAC Director, Lisa Hueneke, showcases three artists exploring ideas of story, journey, and the spirit. The greatest stories are ones filled with layers and complexities that enrich its telling. The work in this exhibition all share that great richness created through layers, textures, and skillfully composed elements. While their individual backgrounds and mediums are diverse, their work is inspired by sensitivity to the world around them and reflects personal journeys, introspection, and the stories of those they encounter woven together into an intriguing, visual tale.
Featured artists and mediums are:
Spencer Bohren, New Orleans – shadowbox assemblages
Melissa Strickler, Lander – collage and mixed media
Do Palma, Cheyenne – art quilts, beadwork, silk screening
LAC openings and exhibitions are free and open to the public. Exhibition on display September 26 – November 1, 2014.
