Musician Jalan Crossland of Ten Sleep is one of the new additions to the 2015-2016 WAC Artist Roster.

Ten Wyoming artists were approved by the Wyoming Arts Council board to be included in the Council’s Artist Roster, which serves as a resource for communities seeking artists for festivals, performances and other types of art programs. More than 60 artists will be featured on the 2015-2016 roster.

New roster artists are Laramie visual artist June Glasson; musician Jalan Crossland of Ten Sleep; stage combat instructor Kevin Inouye of Laramie; Laramie visual artist Meg Thompson; musician Bryan Tomingas from Jackson; and Torrington author John Nesbitt.

Artists continuing on the roster are George Vlastos, poet from Casper; poet and arts educator Rick Kempa from Rock Springs; musician Michael Hurwitz of Alta; and singer/songwriter Eddie “Daron” Little from Encampment.

WAC Roster Artists are selected through a rigorous panel process that juries artists on professionalism, presentation, artistic expression and subject matter. Artists represent a wide range of art forms, cultural and ethnic programs and presentation styles.

Organizations can apply to the WAC’s Artists Across Wyoming grant category to bring one of the WAC’s roster artists or groups into their communities and schools for performances, readings, workshops, presentations and more.

For more information on the Artist Roster, go to the WAC’s web site at www.wyomingartscouncil.org or call the Arts Council office at 307-777-7742.
