WAC Fellowship Biennial Exhibit Opens Sept. 27 at Nicolaysen Art Museum

The work of 11 Wyoming artists will be featured Sept. 27, 2013 through Jan. 5, 2014, in “Ebb and Flow: From the Mountain Peaks to the Plains Below,” the Wyoming Arts Council Fellowship Biennial Exhibit at Casper’s Nicolaysen Art Museum.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, 5:30-8 p.m., to coincide with the Council’s fall quarterly board meeting in Casper. Fellowship judge Napoleon Jones-Henderson will speak. The event is free and open to the public. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

The exhibit showcases the work of the 2012 and 2013 Wyoming Arts Council fellowship recipients: Joe Arnold, Laramie; Jenny Wuerker, Buffalo; Abbie Miller, Jackson; Susan Thulin, Jackson; Brian Haberman, Cheyenne; and Chuck Kimmerle, Casper. Work by artists who received fellowship honorable mentions will also be included in the show: Suzanne Morlock, Wilson; Diana Baumbach, Laramie; June Glasson, Laramie; Jennifer Hoffman, Jackson; and Cat Urbigkit, Big Piney.

Each year, the WAC awards visual arts fellowships to three artists in the state. Several honorable mentions also are chosen. Every two years, the WAC honors its fellowship winners with an exhibition at one of Wyoming’s fine art galleries or museums.

Exhibition co-sponsors are the Wyoming Arts Council and the Nicolaysen Art Museum.
