Wyoming Arts Council board meets Nov. 7-8 in Casper w/update


The Wyoming Arts Council (WAC) will hold its quarterly board meeting in Casper on Nov. 7-8. The meeting location has been changed to room 404 of the Casper College Gateway Building. Sessions will be held on Thursday from 1-5 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until business is concluded. An executive session also may be held, if necessary.

Agenda items include: Review and discussion of the nominations for the 2013 Governor’s Arts Awards; Community Arts Partners grants review and funding decisions; mentoring grant panel recommendations and funding decisions; review of the Wyoming Arts Conference; and discussion of upcoming WAC-sponsored events.

The board invites individuals and organizational representatives to attend any part of the meeting to observe the board process, and to address the board during the public comment session beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. Comments about the agency’s policies, funding priorities, on-line granting system, and other arts-related topics are welcomed. At the conclusion of Friday’s session, a free public reception for the WAC 2012-2013 Biennial Fellowship Exhibit will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Nicolaysen Art Museum in downtown Casper. Members of the WAC board, fellowship recipients and honorable mentions will be in attendance.
