From a Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources press release:
Members of the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund Board will hold a grant review meeting June 19-20, at the Historic Governors’ Mansion Carriage House, 300 E. 21st Street in Cheyenne.
This year, 59 applications were received requesting more than $1.3 million (with a $50,000 maximum request cap) to support projects that begin after July 1. These applications span the state and include requests in support of historic preservation, architecture services for brick and mortar projects, a book festival, art exhibitions, folk arts, performances, arts education, endowment requests, and humanities activities.
This year’s available funding is approximately $500,000.
“The quality of these applications is excellent with requests far exceeding available funding,” Cultural Trust Fund Administrator Renee Bovee said. “These projects have a combined potential impact of more than $11 million in these communities. Obviousl y, not all grants will receive funding…but as we have learned from previous grant rounds, the local impact is often under-estimated in the application process.”
The Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund meeting will begin at 10 a.m. on June 19, and continue through the morning of June 20.
Full agendas are available on the Cultural Trust Fund website, www.artsparkshistory.com. For more information, you may also contact Bovée at (307) 777-6312.
