Author Michael A. Amundson will be at the Wyoming State Museum on Dec. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to sign his book “Wyoming Revisited: Rephotographing the Scenes of Joseph E. Stimson.”

Published by University Press of Colorado and Utah State University Press, the book features the technique known as rephotographing. Amundson compares images of Wyoming taken by J.E. Stimson with repeat images taken by the author in 1980s and then again in 2007-2008.

Using this process, Amundsen invites readers to explore how rephotography can be used to understand history, landscape, historic preservation, and globalization.

Amundson is a professor of history at Northern Arizona University, the author of “Yellowcake Towns and Passage to Wonderland,” and the co-editor of “Atomic Culture.”

The Wyoming State Museum is located at 2301 Central Avenue in Cheyenne.

The publication of this book is supported in part by the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund.
