Wyoming State Museum launches mobile-based tours

Exciting news from our SPCR colleagues at the Wyoming State Museum:

The Wyoming State Museum presents the new mobile-based museum tour that turns a good old scavenger hunt into a game that makes exploring museums interactive and engaging.

Developed in partnership with Stray Boots, a start-up company from New York, the tour is a fun new way to explore the museum using your own phone.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with Stray Boots on this exciting project. The scavenger hunt leads participants on a fun learning adventure that brings the Museum’s exhibits and Wyoming’s history into the 21st century,” said the Curator of Education Nathan Doerr.

The tour starts at the entrance to the galleries and covers the entire museum. As you go, you earn points and learn fun facts about each stop you make. You’ll receive your final score at the end of the game and a keepsake with all of the photos you captured along the way.

The tour of the museum is available through the Stray Boosts App that visitors to the museum can download on their phones for free.

The Wyoming State Museum is located at 2301 Central Avenue in Cheyenne. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is free.
