Talented musician Caitlin Belem accompanies David Romtvedt (her father) on the “Zelestina in Outer Space” tour in October.
Poet and musician David Romtvedt.
Buffalo writer and musician David Romtvedt conducted a tour of the state Aug. 19-27 with a series of readings from his new novel, “Zelestina Urza in Outer Space.” He also talked about Basque history and, with accompanist Caitlin Belem, performed Basque songs and led audiences in Basque dances. After a break in September, the duo will resume their travels on Oct. 15 with a visit to the Basque Museum and Cultural Center in Boise and a series of Wyoming and Colorado stops. These events are made possible by the University of Nevada Center for Basque Studies with support from the Johnson County Library Foundation, the Caitlin Long Excellence Fund, the University of Wyoming English Department, and the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund.
