The Wyoming Youth Arts Council is a new statewide initiative from the Wyoming Arts Council designed to empower high school students (ages 15–19) to lead through the arts. This program offers young people a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, enhance their creative practice, and contribute to the future of arts and culture in Wyoming. By participating, students will connect with peers and mentors, gain hands-on experience in the arts sector, and make a lasting impact on their communities.
The Wyoming Youth Arts Council provides high school students with the tools and resources needed to become confident, creative leaders. Over the course of eight months, participants will engage in leadership development, arts education, and arts advocacy, while also contributing to a youth-led creative project that connects their skills and passions.
Program Features:
The Wyoming Youth Arts Council is more than just a program—it’s an opportunity for students to lead with creativity and vision. As Amara Fehring, Community Development and Arts Learning Specialist at the Wyoming Arts Council, explains:
“Growing up in Wyoming, I had access to leadership programs that changed the trajectory of my life, but it was applying those skills in the arts that helped me become a more thoughtful, creative, and resilient leader. We want Wyoming youth to have that same opportunity to discover their voice, grow their leadership, and see the arts not only as a creative outlet but as a way to make a meaningful impact on their communities.”
Applications and nominations for the Wyoming Youth Arts Council will be accepted from May 5 to August 22, 2025. High school students from across Wyoming are encouraged to apply or be nominated.
